Elegance.

Where did elegance go? Sometimes I wish I could live in another era, just for a little while. In particular the 1920's\. I am a modern girl but it would be nice to experience another time if only for the fashion and culture. I also want to know what boys were like back in the day. Back some decades ago women dressed to be modest and beautiful. There was a mystery that surrounded Hollywood stars that doesn't exist anymore. Audrey Hepburn, Bette Davis, Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor were all beautiful, not unlike the celebrities of today but they were classy and sexy, but in an understated way. They seemed unattainable and far more interesting than celebrities of today ( Miley Cyrus or Paris Hilton? There really is no comparison). Famous people today are easy to forget, it's someone knew every few years. But those women were irreplacable.

Taylor Warren

So I lied. I didn't update my blog during Spring break. I was chilling on an island with my family and there is no internet/phone reception/people under the age of 45 there. I read some fashion magazines though and that was great. It made me feel a little bit more interested in this blog again.  Anyways. One of my guilty pleasure is America's Next Top Model. It's just so addicting and I don't know why! Honestly models are kind of fascinating to me. They live in the fashion industry and they must experience so much. My favorite model is Taylor Warren ( she's not on America's Next Model ) . I just think she looks so unique and her eyes are so beautiful.
Her eyes are so blue! And I like her style.

She's from New York and is 23 years old. The photos of her are not just pretty but they are interesting to look at. She is beautiful in a unique way.

Spring is here

Busy week but Spring break is here so I have more time for blogging :) I am a loser.

This is a poem I wrote and it's dedicated to my great grandmothers.

Teach me.
Teach me to be graceful like you,
Teach me to be strong,
Teach me too be able to withstand life's obstacles and challenges head on,
With as much class and poise as you have,
A steel hand in a velvet glove,
Unfailing faith and fierce love,
Teach me.
To see the beauty in everything and everyone,
To cherish every bit of life, and laugh and love.
With as much zest and quiet passion as you have,
Beauty pales and youth fades,
But yours has done a remarkable job of holding on,
Every lovely wrinkle,
Symbolizes the many days you have spent under the sun,
Smiling and laughing with all your heart,
Teach me to be like you,
And always know that I love you.

Modcloth- Cutest stinkin' dress ever

How cute is this little vintage inspired dress from modcloth? I am in love with it. It should be mine. This little floral stunner costs $ 57.99 and for a dress as dang cute as this it would be worth every penny. I love the little buttons and navy belt too. I can totally picture someone wearing this dress in the summer on a porch, drinking iced tea while people watching. Summer needs to hurry on up and get here already. It is vintagey but still kind of modern. Vintage is great because it's so unique and special. Vintage clothing always has a story and it's fun to make stories up for them. A lot of the clothes from modcloth are vintage inspired and are very cute.

Good boys.

I have to admit that my inspiration for this came from my friends. I am sure that everyone does this but whenever me and my girlfriends get together we always talk about guys and how there are none. Maybe that's not really fair and maybe some guys are thinking the same thing about girls ( I doubt they chat about it with their guys while watching their favorite movies and eating pints of peanut butter tracks Ben and Jerry's icecream). No, there are really good guys, so maybe "good guys" are not what are lacking, but what does seem to be lacking are good old-fashioned gentlemen. I know they are out there but where? I am going to say they probably have a girlfriend because that's the way it goes and no way these guys could stay single for long. I mean, there is nothing wrong with flirting and texting. That's all good, but sometimes a girl just wants a guy to hold a door open for them . Simple things like that are all that it takes for a good guy to be that guy. That guy that, let's face it every girl wants. I was watching a movie called "The Jerk Theory" and it's about how girls want the bad guy, who is hard to get, because it's exciting, but what girls should want is a good guy who treats them right. I admit to being attracted to "bad boys"  but really what I want is just a good guy who I can trust and who is honest and genuine. It's like with clothes, sometimes I am seduced by something expensive that is cool but really not worth it ( like a pair of jeans) . I know better, but it's hard to get so it stays on my mind until I eventually buy it. It's cool at first. Then I realize it's not all that special and that it's a little tight in the ass and fades in the wash. At the end of the day, what's good is good and what's bad sucks.

I love my friends!

They are the best friends in the world! (and they always dress really cute).

thai fishermens pants. I am completely serious.

I am now obsessed with a pair of pants that I saw on one of my new favorite shows, "Dragon's Den". That show rocks my socks right off. It's just so badass. I love the dragons; my favorite is Brett Wilson. I love him! And Kevin O'Leary, but Brett is my favorite. So, I am sure I have mentioned how much I love yoga? I go to yoga classes three times a week and if I can go more often, I do. I am pretty much a raging ball of lunacy and yoga keeps me relatively sane. I've always really hated p.e and I hate working out in gyms. I realize that some people just love working out. However I feel awkward and really out of place. And I hate the smell of most gyms. They smells really strongly of metal and rubber. Yoga is much more my thing with the soothing music, soft lighting, candles and meditation. Anyways, on Dragons Den, there was this chick who was showing these thai fishermens pants. It's weird, I never thought I would genuinely want to buy something called thai fishermens pants. They are unisex, one size fits all pants.
Before you click off this website and vomit in your mouth ( my initial reaction, but that was because the girl was showing off a tie-dyed pair in the colours of regurgitated spaghetti) , think about how comfortable these pants would be? Remember crocs ( I normally try to forget that those exist) ? Well, they are frankly hideous but you know what, they are comfortable as can be. And I think that these would be kind of cool looking to wear when chilling around the house or with friends. I would wear these to a yoga class for sure. With a nice fitted plain shirt is how I would wear these pants. I cannot even say how much I want these. I have never wanted someone on Dragon's Deal to succeed so much. Seriously, I was practically praying for the girl (Carly something) to get a deal and when she got a deal from Jim Treliving (the owner of Boston Pizza among other things) I felt very happy and satisfied. Maybe it's just laziness but I love chill, easy clothes like these. And I love that they are adjustable. Anything I can wrap, I like. Bubble wrap, wrap dresses, spicy grilled chicken wraps, Donna Karan Infinity wrap cardigans, and these pants. These pants are definitely unique and comfortable and let's open our minds because, let's face it, we have all tried something questionable fashion-wise.Remember when ponchos were cool? I used to rock a bright, lemon yellow, heavy knit poncho that used to belong to my mom when she was like eight. Very vintage, but not in a good way believe me. What's fun about fashion and clothes if we don't branch out and try new things? I am in love and am definitely ordering a pair of these bad boys.

What can you do.

Okay. I lied, I didn't write a fashiony thing like I said I would. But I am pretty sure the few people who actually read this blog are not exactly panicking at my lack of posts. I will definitely write something tomorrow! I had a good day today and I hope everyone else ( whoever is reading this) had a good day as well. Sidenote: You want to know one of my pet peeves? When people say pce. Like not peace, "pce". It might just be me and I am probably just a spaz but it's so irritating!
This is the video for Dace Spring/Summer 2010. It's old I guess but I like this collection, it's my favorite. The fabrics are so floaty and the shapes are so relaxed and feminine. I love this one the best.

Cracks me up like a bowl full of eggs

I have been doing homework all day! Good on me! Except that means, I haven't been writing about fashion. Which is shameful. And this really has nothing to do with fashion but it made me laugh :) This girl cracks me up, I swear she reminds me of ML. She is my best friend and is also obsessed with Harry Potter, although not to this extreme ( as far as I know) but I can totally see her doing something like this.

I was working on my essay. Sparknotes. Shameful (according to my teacher, but who cares), I know. But I did find this little gem so it's okay, and also I was working on John Milton's "Paradise Lost" for my literature class and frankly, sparknotes was necessary. I am definitely writing something fashiony tomorrow but for now I am trying not to drown in my massive shit load of homework.
